I create a service in Delphi. I need this service to run my program. In Windows 7, I use this code to execute a program :
The code works fine for an 'empty' program. So I drop TVirtualExpolorerTreeview onto the form of my program. if I start my service then there will be an error when the program is being called. I guess the program can't enumerate PIDL or blabla (I don't know much about Windows Shell). How do I force the program so it can run normally?

I have not had occasion to want to do this before, so I'm hoping someone can enlighten me. I have an app built in D7, and it's rather complex in its functionality. Is it possible to rebuild the app to run as a service? Would that require separating the user interface from the app? Can I just simply copy or backup/restore my GW55 email/calendar/etc. files to another server if my original server crashed or I'm changing to a new server? Hi, While I'm overly satisfied with Delphi XE5 (beside a few weird things), there is 1 thing that is really annoying: the non stop hourglass in the IDE. When I double click a word to select: hourglass. When I move the cursor 2 spaces: hourglass. Scrolling: hourglass. When typing a few characters: hourglass. And this is really all the time. Serving datasets to (non-Delphi) .Net client
I would be grateful for some advice on the best way to design a Delphi web service to inter-operate with a non-Delphi .Net client. The plan is to use RAD Studio 2007 to write a SOAP server to transfer datasets to and from a remote .Net client. [The client end is part of a web site being constructed by another party.] The datasets will contain records with both simple data types and BLOBs. My own preference would be to write the SOAP server as a native WIN32 application but my impression is that doing so would require a large amount of custom serialization code to be written..

We have BMEE3.5 on a nw5.0 server. I want to setup the client-to-site VPN but don't know where to start. When I go into nwadmn32/BM setup & click the VPN tab, all options are grayed out.
